NDLEA Seizes ₦16.9bn in Lagos Drug Warehouse Raids

On April 17, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) executed a significant operation in Lagos, targeting three illicit drug warehouses located within residential buildings in the Okota area. The operation, driven by intelligence, led to the recovery of opioids valued at ₦16,927,200,000.

A total of 2,360,000 high-potency tramadol pills (225mg) and 1,909,400 bottles of codeine syrup were seized. The warehouses were identified at 98 Olukayode Awofisayo Street and two others at 5 Charl Ndumetu Street within the Park View Estate.

The NDLEA chairman, Mohammed Buba Marwa, described the operation as a major success against drug trafficking networks and highlighted the impact of desperate drug cartels in residential areas. Marwa commended the professionalism and commitment of the officers involved and reiterated the agency's ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks and curb substance abuse nationwide.
