Court Jails 4 Persons Arrested By EFCC During Operation At Obasanjo Library Hotel

Four individuals, Bisiriyu Roqeeb, Abiodun Ibrahim, Azeez Olatunji, and Akinwale Isaac, were sentenced by a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, following their arrest by the EFCC during a sting operation at a hotel within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta. The suspects were charged with impersonation and internet fraud, to which they pleaded guilty.

The prosecution presented evidence, including statements from the defendants and forensic investigation results from their mobile devices. The court found the defendants guilty and convicted them accordingly.

The defense counsel pleaded for mercy, stating that the defendants had shown remorse. The judge, while acknowledging this, emphasized the need to temper justice with mercy.

The defendants were ordered to make restitution for their crimes.
