Court Orders Forfeiture of Ado-Ekiti Properties Over Fraud

On Tuesday, a Federal High Court in Ilorin, presided over by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, issued an interim forfeiture order concerning a lounge and a four-bedroom bungalow located in Ado-Ekiti. This order is part of an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into an alleged N1.98 billion fraud involving Olorunbukunmi Taiwo.

The properties affected by the order include the Town Tavern Lounge situated along Iker Road and the bungalow located in Irewole Estate, both in Ekiti State. The court determined that the EFCC had satisfied the legal conditions required to grant the interim forfeiture order, which allows law enforcement agencies to temporarily seize assets suspected to be proceeds of crime while investigations are ongoing.

The EFCC's efforts are aimed at tracing, recovering, and preserving assets that may have been unlawfully acquired.
