Court Denies Injunction Against Kano Gov’t Vehicle Retrieval

On Monday, Justice Mahmood Abba Namtari ruled against an ex parte application that sought to prevent the Kano State Government from retrieving vehicles from former commissioners. The application was filed by a team led by Suraj Sa'Ed San, representing five former commissioners who resigned in January 2026, including Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim K.

Mata (former Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation), AVM Ibrahim Umar (rtd) (former Commissioner for Internal Security), Nasir Sule Garo (former Commissioner for Special Duties), Adamu Aliyu Kibiya (former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), and Mustapha Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso (former Commissioner for Youth and Sports). The court emphasized the need for procedural fairness, stating that no interim protection would be granted without first hearing the state government's defense.

The case has been adjourned to March 10, 2026, for further proceedings.
