Court Rejects Application to Stop Mark, Aregbesola from Leading ADC

The Federal High Court in Abuja rejected an application to halt David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from assuming leadership positions in the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Justice Emeka Nwite refused the ex parte motion filed by Mr.

Gombe, a former Deputy National Chairman of ADC. The court directed the plaintiff to put the defendants on notice and adjourned the matter to September 15.

The suit involves Mark, Aregbesola, the ADC, and INEC. The plaintiff sought an interim injunction to restrain INEC from recognizing Mark and Aregbesola as the national chairman and secretary of ADC.

The case highlights the leadership dispute within the ADC ahead of the upcoming elections.
