Four Suspects Remanded for Gun-Running in Delta State

On April 26, 2026, four suspects were remanded by the Delta State High Court in Asaba for their alleged involvement in a gun-running syndicate. The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa Amadi, Princewil Amadi, and Felix Chibuik, were arrested during intelligence-led operations conducted in Bayelsa and Imo States.

The Delta State Police Command, represented by Bright Edaf, announced that the suspects were charged with five counts, including unlawful possession of a Beretta pistol and four rounds of live 9mm ammunition, both of which violate the Firearms Act. Additionally, they face charges related to conspiracy and membership in a proscribed society, specifically the Black Axe confraternity.

Following their arraignment, the court ordered the suspects to be remanded in custody pending further proceedings. Delta State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command's commitment to tackling illegal firearms, cultism, and violent crime in the state.
