Delta Police Arrest Four Suspected Gunrunners in Bayelsa

The Delta State Police Command arrested four suspects involved in a gun-running syndicate linked to illegal firearm possession. The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa Amadi, Princewil Amadi, and Felix Chibuik, were apprehended following a detailed investigation.

The operation began with the arrest of Emmanuel Chukwuemeka on May 1, 2026, in Effurun, Bayelsa State, where he allegedly confessed to purchasing a firearm for 290,000 Naira from Princewil Amadi. This firearm was reportedly sold to an unidentified buyer known as Desmond, who was involved in reselling weapons.

Princewil Amadi was arrested on May 15, 2026, and during interrogation, he admitted to buying a weapon from Felix Chibuik for 200,000 Naira, leading to Chibuik's arrest on May 16, 2026, in Owerri. The suspects are believed to be affiliated with the Black Axe confraternity, and efforts to apprehend additional members of the syndicate are ongoing.

The suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
