Court Threatens to Revoke Sowore's Bail Over Absence

On Thursday, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Judge Moham Umar, threatened to revoke the bail granted to activist Omoyele Sowore due to his absence from court during ongoing trial proceedings. Sowore is facing allegations of cyberstalking President Bola Tinubu, with the Department of State Services (DSS) accusing him of making defamatory statements on social media.

During the proceedings, Sowore's legal team was also absent, and counsel Akinlolu Kehind informed the court that the defense was scheduled to conclude cross-examination of the first prosecution witness. Judge Umar noted that Sowore had previously attended court sessions but warned that he would not hesitate to grant the prosecution's request to revoke Sowore's bail and issue a bench warrant for his arrest if he fails to appear at the next scheduled hearing on March 16.

Sowore was granted bail of N10 million with sureties required to submit valid identification and property documents.
