Creative Sector Aims for 2.3% GDP Contribution by 2030

Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, revealed that the creative sector currently contributes approximately 2.3% to Nigeria's GDP, with a target of N100 billion and 2 million jobs by 2030 under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

To achieve this target, the Ministry has inaugurated four drafting committees focused on policy and strategy, programmes and implementation, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring and evaluation. The Minister made these statements during a meeting with Professor Ayo Omotayo, Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and Alh.

She assured the Ministry's readiness to collaborate with NIPSS on a National Summit and Exhibition on the Orange Economy, emphasizing the importance of the creative sectors as engines of national growth.
