Credit Bureau Chief Warns Youth Against Irresponsible Borrowing

Dr. Ahm Popoola, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CRC Credit Bureau, delivered a cautionary message to young Nigerians regarding irresponsible borrowing practices during the first collaborative lecture at the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Kwara State University.

The event, held at the institution's permanent site, focused on financial entrepreneurship and infrastructure. Dr.

Popoola expressed concern over the increasing trend of young individuals taking out multiple loans from various digital lending platforms, citing instances where some manage up to 40 loans simultaneously. He emphasized that while borrowing is not inherently negative, unsustainable borrowing habits can have severe implications for the future.

Professor Sheikh Lukman Jimoh, the Vice Chancellor of the university, also participated in the lecture, which aimed to foster synergy between industry and academia.
