Governor Otu Orders Urgent Repairs on Calabar-Odukpani Road

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has ordered urgent repairs on a failed portion of the Calabar-Odukpani road, which has been described as a "death trap" due to its deplorable condition. This road serves as a major gateway linking Calabar metropolis to Odukpani and Akamkpa.

The governor conducted an inspection tour of the critical section along the Calabar corridor, which has drawn widespread public outcry due to years of neglect. He directed the immediate mobilization of contractors to commence emergency repairs without delay, emphasizing that these repairs are a priority for the state.

Otu noted that while immediate relief is necessary, a long-term engineering solution is being designed to prevent future failures. He reiterated the administration's commitment to building infrastructure that meets current needs and serves future generations.

The governor appealed to residents for patience and cooperation as efforts to deliver improved infrastructure continue.
