Cross River Governor Otu Reshuffles Cabinet for Efficiency

On Tuesday, Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River announced a reshuffle of the state executive council aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery in line with his administration’s ‘People First’ agenda. During the reshuffle, two new commissioners were sworn in: Mr.

Dodeye Ikpi Arikpo as Commissioner for Special Duties/Intergovernmental Relations and Chief Obi Afor Ayuk as Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture. Additionally, several existing commissioners were redeployed to different ministries: Hon.

Osogi Moses John moved from the Ministry of Environment to the Ministry of Water Resources; Dr. Nku Ekpang Erasmus Ekpang transitioned from the Ministry of Information to the Ministry of Lands; Mensah Bassey Offiong was assigned to the Ministry of Environment; Cobham Ekpenyong Ene was redeployed to the Ministry of Information; Ekpenyong Francis Edet became the commissioner for the Ministry of Livestock, Aquaculture, and Fisheries Development; and Kingsley N.

Egumi was moved to the Ministry of Transport. Governor Otu stated that these changes were made to maximize the strengths of individual commissioners and enhance government efficiency.
