CSOs Demand Justice for Murdered Lagos Youth Leader

Civil society organizations have called on the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, to intensify the investigation into the murder of youth leader Sheriff Salami, who was killed on April 18, 2023, in Moba Town, near Ajiran. Salami's assassination occurred on August 26, 2024, along Chevron Drive in the Lekki area.

The appeal was made during a joint press briefing held in Ogba, Lagos, by various organizations, including the Centre for Human Rights and Socio-Economic Justice and the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations. Comrade Alex Omotehins, president of the Centre for Human Rights and Socio-Economic Justice, commended the police for their progress but stressed the need for a logical conclusion to prevent further unresolved murder cases.

The widow of Princ Kazeem Akinloy, Aramid Akinloy, expressed gratitude for the support received but urged for a transparent investigation. Sanni Aisha, Salami's elder sister, highlighted the family's ongoing struggle with the loss and the need for justice.
