Families Demand Justice for Slain Lagos Youth Leaders

Families of two youth leaders, Sheriff Salami and Princ Kazeem Akinloy, are intensifying their demand for justice following their killings in Lagos State. Salami was murdered on April 18, 2023, in Moba Town, while Akinloy was killed on August 26, 2024, along Chevron Drive in Lekki.

The murders are allegedly connected to a protracted land dispute in the Ajiran Community, Eti Osa Local Government Area. The police announced the arrest of two suspects in January, with Lagos State Commissioner of Police Moshood Jimoh revealing that confessions led to the identification of a prime suspect.

Akinloy's widow, Aramid Ademola, commended the police for their efforts but urged them to intensify the search for the fleeing suspect. She emphasized the emotional toll on the families and the need for justice, which she hopes will not be delayed.

Aishat Agbek, Salami's sister, expressed the ongoing pain of loss, while Alex Omotehin from the Central Human Socio-Economic Rights organization called for accountability from the police.
