Lagos Police Arrest Suspects in High-Profile Murders

The Lagos State Police have made significant progress in two high-profile murder cases by arresting two principal suspects, Safiu Fatai, known as Fabo, and Yusuf Ismaila, known as Bariga. Both suspects were apprehended on January 24, 2026, and February 6, 2026, respectively.

The murders in question involve Sheriff Salami Ishola, 37, and Ademola Akinloy, 38, occurring in the Eti Osa Local Government Area. Investigations revealed that on April 18, 2023, Ishola was ambushed and shot multiple times by the suspects, who allegedly confessed to the crime.

They also admitted to being involved in the murder of Akinloy, which took place on August 26, 2024. The suspects claimed they were promised financial rewards for their actions, including a payment of 2 million naira.

The police have declared Ahm Tajudeen Akanbi, identified as the alleged sponsor of the crimes, wanted, along with others. The police urge the public to report any information that could lead to further arrests.
