Plateau Violence Claims Lives of Policeman and Civilians

Violence in Plateau State has escalated, resulting in the deaths of a policeman and three civilians in separate incidents. The attacks occurred in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, with the policeman reportedly killed during an ambush along Gagshi Road at around 4 PM.

Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, President of the Berom Youth Moulders-Association, confirmed the ambush and expressed his narrow escape from the incident.

He described the situation as indicative of a worsening security environment, stating that attacks are now occurring in broad daylight rather than being confined to nighttime. Mwantiri urged security personnel and relevant authorities to intensify efforts to protect lives and property and restore peace to the affected communities.

The government had previously imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in response to the rising violence.
