Customs CG Bashir Adeniyi Praises AI's Revenue Impact

Bashir Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, delivered a keynote address at the 4th Biennial International Conference organized by the Faculty of Communication and Information Science at the University of Ilorin, in collaboration with the Faculty of Philology at Rudn University, Russia. The conference, themed "Disruptive Technology, Human and Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Economy," focused on the transformative effects of emerging technologies on government and trade systems.

Adeniyi highlighted that artificial intelligence is reshaping customs operations, improving efficiency, and enhancing decision-making processes. He stressed the importance of stronger collaboration among government institutions, financial agencies, auditors, and policymakers to strengthen the national revenue system.

Additionally, Adeniyi conducted a work visit to the Kwara Area Command, where he commended the officers for their professionalism and discipline while inspecting government warehouses and urging adherence to transparency and proper documentation.
