Nigeria Customs Service Renovates Health Facility in Rivers

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) inaugurated a renovated primary healthcare facility in the Ebubu community, Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State. The facility, previously in disrepair, was rehabilitated and equipped by the Port Harcourt Area II Command under the Customs Care Initiative led by Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi.
During the inauguration, Adeniyi stated that the project reflects NCS's commitment to community development alongside its core mandates of revenue collection, trade facilitation, and border protection. Launched on March 28, 2025, the Customs Care Initiative addresses community needs in healthcare, education, and social investment.
Adeniyi urged the community to protect the facility and called on the Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board to ensure effective management. Aliyu Alkali, Comptroller of the Port Harcourt Area II Command, noted the facility's strategic importance for residents, particularly for maternal and child health.
Dr Chituru Adele, Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board, expressed gratitude to the NCS for the initiative.
