Nigerian Customs Service Generates N4.03 Trillion in H1 2026

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) reported a revenue generation of N4.03 trillion in the first half of 2026. This figure was disclosed by Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, during his inaugural board meeting and facility tour at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja on September 2, 2026.

Oyedele commended the NCS for its strong revenue performance, technology investments, and trade facilitation reforms. He credited the impressive results to aggressive automation, intelligence-led reforms, and improved cargo processing strategies under the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.

Oyedele challenged the NCS to build on its revenue gains by establishing world-class benchmarks for trade facilitation, emphasizing the need for port efficiency, transparency, cargo clearance timelines, and revenue integrity. He reaffirmed the Federal Government's support for the NCS, promising continued access to advanced technology and operational tools under President Bola Tinubu's administration to sustain the Service's transformation and enhance its role as a premier trade facilitator in Africa.
