Borno Overtakes Osun in Voter Registration Numbers - INEC Data Reveals

The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Nigeria has seen a total of 6.2 million registrations, with Borno State surpassing Osun State in numbers. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Borno State in the North East has recorded the highest number of registrations at 35%, pushing Osun State to second place at 30%.

Lagos and Kebbi states follow closely. The data also shows that young Nigerians aged 18-34 and women constitute a significant portion of the registrants.

Additionally, there has been a positive growth in interest in the political process, with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) also actively participating in the registration process both online and physically at designated INEC centers nationwide.
