Daga's Emotional Goal Celebration After Court Acquittal

Daniel Daga, a 19-year-old midfielder for Molde FK, celebrated an emotional goal during a 4-2 victory over KFUM Oslo in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday. Daga scored the equaliser in the 40th minute and broke down in tears, covering his face with his jersey, reflecting the significance of the moment after a long absence from football.

This goal came in his second start since being reinstated to the squad following his acquittal by Norway’s Frostating Court of Appeal, which overturned a March conviction for a sexual offence. Molde FK had suspended Daga indefinitely after the initial verdict but reinstated him once the appeal court cleared his name.

The club stated that Daga is now available for selection. In the match, Daga scored after reacting quickly to a rebound, helping Molde recover from an early deficit.

He has made 14 appearances for Molde since joining ahead of the 2025 season, scoring three goals.
