Abdullahi Critiques NSA, COAS Over 'Brotherly' Terrorist Comments

Abdullahi, a representative of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), criticized National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Chief of Army Staff Waidi Shaibu over their remarks suggesting a "brotherly" relationship with surrendered terrorists. This criticism was sparked by a viral video where Ribadu referred to the families of surrendered terrorists in a manner that Abdullahi deemed dangerous.

He argued that such comments promote a mindset of accommodation and tolerance towards criminal elements rather than confronting them. Abdullahi emphasized that when the government begins to frame terrorists and their families in such terms, it blurs the moral and legal lines necessary for a serious security response.

The ADC issued a statement on Friday, asserting that this rhetoric could undermine the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.
