Dangote Cement Enhances Transport Safety with AI Solutions

Dangote Cement Plc has intensified its road safety transport management by deploying artificial intelligence-driven solutions and automated inspection technology. This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce road traffic crashes.

The program covers key operational areas, including performance monitoring and driver competency development. The company has introduced an enhanced GPS telematics system for real-time monitoring of driver behavior.

Dangote Cement has also expanded its driver training programs and implemented mandatory drug and alcohol screenings. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) commended the company's proactive safety interventions, which have contributed to a 56% decline in road crashes involving its trucks and a 36% reduction in fatalities.

The company reported significant improvements in safety compliance, with drug and alcohol testing increasing by 245.2%, pre-trip vehicle inspections rising by 489.1%, and driver training programs expanding by 128.4%. These efforts are part of Dangote Cement's commitment to sustainable community impact and adherence to safety standards.
