Dangote Refinery Slashes Ex-depot Petrol Price By N30, NLC Hails Company’s Impact

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex-depot price of petrol by N30, bringing it down to N820 per litre. The company emphasized its commitment to national development and assured the public of consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products.

Additionally, Dangote Petroleum Refinery will begin the phased deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks for fuel distribution across Nigeria starting August 15, 2025. The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) praised the refinery as a transformative national asset, highlighting its role in bridging the fuel supply gap, boosting employment, and restoring public confidence in the country's industrial sector.

The NLC also acknowledged the refinery's contribution to stabilizing petrol prices amidst the removal of subsidies by the federal government. Vice President of Oil & Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, highlighted the strategic significance of deploying CNG trucks to support domestic refining and reduce fuel prices for Nigerian consumers.
