Dangote Refinery Denies Claims of PMS Export and Re-import

Dangote Refinery issued a statement refuting allegations concerning the export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and its subsequent re-importation into Nigeria. The management described these claims as baseless and lacking substantiation, emphasizing that they do not engage in such practices.

The refinery's core mandate is to strengthen domestic supply and enhance energy security in Nigeria. The management clarified that sale contracts explicitly prohibit the resale or re-importation of Dangote products into Nigeria.

They highlighted that the logistics costs associated with transporting products back to Nigeria would significantly erode profit margins, making such transactions commercially unviable. Furthermore, the refinery maintains strict product traceability protocols to ensure transparency across the supply chain.

The statement concluded that the claims are unfounded and do not withstand scrutiny against market logic and contractual frameworks, reaffirming Dangote Refinery's commitment to reducing Nigeria's dependence on imported petroleum products.
