Dangote Refinery Hits Record 650,000bpd Capacity, Sets Global Milestone

Dangote Petroleum Refinery, led by Aliko Dangote, has made history by hitting a capacity milestone of 650,000 barrels per day, making it the first refinery globally to achieve this feat. The refinery, located in Nigeria, successfully completed a 72-hour performance test in partnership with UOP, a global licensor.

This achievement signifies a breakthrough in Nigeria's oil and gas sector, reducing the country's reliance on fuel imports and strengthening its energy security. The refinery's Chief Executive Officer, David Bird, emphasized the importance of this milestone in reshaping the nation's energy future and supporting industrial growth.

With plans to further increase production capacity, the refinery aims to contribute significantly to Nigeria's domestic market and potentially become a net exporter of refined petroleum products.
