ADC Elects New Executive in Ogun Amid Controversy

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of David Mark, successfully conducted a state congress in Ogun, electing a new executive committee. Mr.

Emmanuel Famojuro was elected as the new state chairman. The congress, held in Abeokuta, was attended by notable figures including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Hon.

Olatunji Soyinka, who presented a harmonized list reflecting agreements among party leaders. The congress was affirmed to be conducted according to party guidelines, with delegates expressing their acceptance of the submitted list.

New deputy national financial secretary, Oladimeji Fabiyi, praised the congress committee for fostering peace and unity within the party. However, a faction led by Femi Soluad criticized the congress, labeling it a "kangaroo" election, asserting that the process was not legitimate.

The new leadership pledged to rebuild the party and engage grassroots involvement, particularly focusing on youth and women.
