ADC Expels Nafiu Bala and Others Amid Leadership Crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of David Mark, expelled Nafiu Bala, the former Deputy National Chairman, along with House of Representatives member Leke Abejide and three other party members. This decision was announced on Tuesday during the party's national congress held in Abuja.

Other expelled members include Kenneth Ehiat, Stella Chukwu, and Elia Adiukwu. The expulsions come amid a deepening leadership crisis within the ADC, as Nafiu Bala continues to assert that he remains the party's authentic national chairman, despite earlier reports of his resignation as Deputy National Chairman.

Bala and Abejide had recently led a protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling on prominent politicians, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to intervene. The internal disputes have intensified the party's crisis, triggering legal actions that affect INEC's recognition of its leadership.
