Davido Announces Plans for Acting and Film Production

In a recent interview with Vibe Magazine, Afrobeats superstar Davido announced his plans to venture into acting and film production. He revealed that he is set to appear in a movie in 2026 and will co-executive produce two films alongside a cinematographer.

Additionally, Davido mentioned that he has a documentary in progress. He stated that pursuing acting and filmmaking is a personal goal, aligning with his status as one of Africa's most prominent entertainers.

While the specific movie for his appearance this year remains undisclosed, Davido has previously made cameo appearances in films released in 2020 and 2021. His collaboration with the cinematographer is not surprising, as they have worked together on several music videos.

Davido's foray into movie production signifies an expansion of his empire, which includes a music label, philanthropy, and investments. He continues to release music, with his sixth album set to drop on July 31, 2026.
