Davido to Co-Produce Films and Act by 2026

Afrobeats star Davido has announced his intention to venture into acting and film production, revealing plans to co-executive produce two films alongside filmmaker Dammy Twitch. In an interview, Davido stated he is set to appear in a film in 2026.

He has previously made cameo appearances in Toyin Abraham’s 2020 comedy, where he appeared as himself during a musical performance. Davido also discussed his sixth studio album and the support of his family, emphasizing their role in helping him navigate personal tragedies and public controversies.

He expressed a desire for his children to avoid careers in music due to the industry's demands, although he would not prevent them from pursuing it if they chose. Davido and Dammy Twitch began their collaboration in 2017, with Twitch initially brought on to shoot performances, later directing the DMW label music video for “Aje” in Senegal that same year.
