Davido Criticized by Sowore for Political Withdrawal

Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, has faced backlash from Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), after Davido declared on X that he would no longer support any presidential candidates. Sowore criticized Davido's decision as politically opportunistic, suggesting it was motivated by personal and family interests, particularly regarding the Adeleke family's control over Osun State's resources.

He alleged that Davido's ties to the political establishment, specifically with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, contradicted any claims of supporting the people of Osun State. This criticism escalated from a previous feud between Sowore and Davido, which began when Sowore labeled Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido's uncle, as “brainless” and criticized the state of infrastructure in Osogbo.

Davido responded by calling Sowore an “Arindin,” to which Sowore retorted that the term was better suited for Adeleke, questioning his political loyalty and record.
