Davido Urges Uncle Adeleke to Avoid Presidential Endorsements

Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, deleted a post directed at his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, advising him against supporting any presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. The post was made during the Osun election results collation on a Saturday, where Davido expressed concerns about the electoral process.

Governor Adeleke had previously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, following his victory in the Osun governorship election, where he defeated APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji by 66,252 votes, securing 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji's 444,815. Despite Davido's post, Adeleke reaffirmed his support for Tinubu in his acceptance speech, praising the President for his role in ensuring a credible election.

The governor also mentioned that Tinubu personally contacted him after his victory. The election saw 1,010,684 accredited voters from 2,339,544 registered voters, with 1,005,800 votes cast.
