Sowore Criticizes Davido for Meeting with Wike

Omoyele Sowore, a prominent Nigerian activist, has publicly criticized Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, for his recent meeting with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. This meeting took place at Wike's residence in Abuja on Thursday, where Davido, accompanied by his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, engaged in a light conversation regarding the outcomes of the Osun State governorship election held on Saturday.

Sowore condemned the meeting, labeling both Davido and Wike as "political hustlers" and questioned why Davido was "genuflecting" before Wike, especially given the reported killings of Osun residents during the election period. In a post on his X handle, Sowore expressed his disdain for the political actors, stating that they deceive the public while their true interests align.

He referred to them as "dissemblers," "gerrymanderers," and "lying machines," highlighting the violence that marred the election, which reportedly involved the murder of supporters from both the All Progressives Congress and the Accord Party.
