DSS Arraigns Two for Terrorism and Coup Activities After 20-Year Jail Sentence

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja arraigned two individuals, Abdulmalik Abdulazeez Obadaki and Innoc Chukwuemeka Us, for terrorism and coup-related activities. Obadaki, believed to be involved in the 2012 attack on a church in Kogi State, faced charges of membership in a terrorist group and aiding terrorist activities.

Us was charged with canvassing a coup in Nigeria. The suspects were remanded in custody pending further court proceedings.

Obadaki had previously escaped custody after being involved in a bank raid in Edo State. The arraignment follows the sentencing of a terrorist leader, Hussaini Ismaila, to 20 years in prison for orchestrating a jailbreak.
