Defence Minister Orders Troops to Shoot Terrorists on Sight

On a recent occasion at the Giginya Memorial Stadium in Sokoto, Defence Minister General Christoph Musa commissioned new security vehicles and equipment, including bullet-resistant vehicles and motorcycles. He ordered troops to shoot terrorists on sight, emphasizing immediate action against criminal elements without waiting for further orders.

Musa stated that members of the armed forces should not hesitate to engage bandits and terrorists, as the federal government has invested in equipping security agencies to combat these threats. Governor Ahmadu Aliyu of Sokoto highlighted the procurement of 200 patrol vehicles and 250 motorcycles for security agencies, alongside the establishment of community guard corps and military barracks.

The governor also noted the successful training and deployment of the first batch of forest guard recruits to enhance surveillance in rural areas. He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for support in improving security in Sokoto, which faces persistent threats from banditry and kidnapping.
