Defence Minister Urges Soldiers to Shoot Terrorists Immediately

On Wednesday, Defence Minister Christoph Musa, a retired general, directed security personnel in Sokoto State not to wait for orders before engaging terrorists and bandits. He emphasized the importance of immediate action to neutralize threats, stating that anyone who hesitates will be treated as a collaborator.

Musa made these remarks during the commissioning of 62 operational vehicles and security equipment worth ₦27.127 billion, procured by the Sokoto State Government to enhance security operations. He praised Governor Ahmadu Aliyu for his consistent support of security agencies and the logistics provided for operations.

Musa reminded security personnel to handle the newly acquired assets responsibly and to protect innocent citizens while taking decisive action against criminals. The governor revealed that the state had previously spent ₦36 billion on security interventions, including vehicles and equipment for military and police operations.

He also announced plans to establish a command control center to improve surveillance and coordination of security efforts.
