Defence Minister Musa to Sue Over Resignation Rumors

Defence Minister Musa, who was appointed on December 2, 2025, and previously served as Chief of Defence Staff until July 2023, vowed to pursue legal action against individuals responsible for rumors regarding his resignation. This announcement followed a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, where Musa arrived around 3 PM and left at 4 PM.

Musa expressed his surprise and disappointment at the rumors, stating he did not know the origin of the reports and described them as deliberate attempts to undermine public confidence in the administration's security achievements. He emphasized the need for continued civilian cooperation with security forces in the fight against terrorism and banditry, noting that the military's performance has been satisfactory according to President Tinubu.

Musa aims to leverage Nigerian support to combat these security challenges effectively.
