Defence Minister Holds Emergency Meeting on Security

Defence Minister Christoph Musa revealed details of an emergency meeting held on Wednesday at the Defence Ministry headquarters in Abuja with service chiefs, including Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Aneke, and Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abass. The meeting was convened in response to a recent attack on a military base in North East Nigeria.

Musa emphasized the need for the military to sustain pressure on terrorists and warned against the spread of false information on social media, which he stated undermines security efforts. He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities and highlighted that anyone providing logistical support to terrorists would face consequences.

Musa concluded by thanking President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly, expressing confidence that Nigeria would overcome its security challenges.
