Defence Minister Calls Service Chiefs to Address Attacks

Defence Minister General Christoph Musa (retd) convened an urgent meeting with service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja to discuss the escalating security situation following recent terrorist attacks in Borno State. The meeting included top military leaders such as Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Anek, and Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abass, along with representatives from the National Intelligence Agency and security officials.

The discussions were prompted by a deadly attack that resulted in the deaths of at least three lieutenant colonels and several soldiers, alongside civilian abductions. The military leadership agreed to review current operational plans to effectively counter the terrorist threats, acknowledging that the armed forces have suffered losses during recent operations while inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.
