Defence Minister Orders Immediate Action Against Terrorists

General Christoph Musa, the Minister of Defence, directed security personnel in Sokoto State to engage armed bandits and terrorists immediately without waiting for further orders. This directive was made during a speech where Governor Ahmadu Aliyu unveiled a new security intervention worth ₦27.127 billion aimed at addressing banditry and violent crime in the state.

Musa emphasized that troops must be proactive and not wait for orders to act against threats. The security intervention includes the procurement of 62 operational vehicles and various equipment, such as bulletproof vehicles, personnel carriers, motorcycles, security gadgets, and tactical gear.

Musa noted that this investment is critical given the persistent security challenges in the northwest region. He also praised Governor Aliyu for his strategic leadership and support for security agencies.

The governor disclosed that Sokoto State has already spent ₦36 billion on previous security interventions, which included operational vehicles and the establishment of military police barracks.
