Gennaro Gattuso Named New Lazio Coach, Dele-Bashiru's Future

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is set to navigate a new phase at Lazio as Gennaro Gattuso has been appointed as the new head coach, replacing Maurizio Sarri. Gattuso, 48, has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract that will last until June 2028, with an official announcement expected soon.

This change comes after Sarri's tumultuous second stint at the club ended by mutual consent, following Lazio's failure to qualify for European football for the second consecutive season. Sarri's frustrations with the club's transfer policies and financial constraints contributed to the decision.

Gattuso, known for his disciplined and intense coaching style, aims to restore order at Lazio, having previously led Napoli to a Coppa Italia victory. Dele-Bashiru, who has shown commitment to the club with a €5.4 million buyout clause in his contract until 2028, is expected to adapt well to Gattuso's demanding methods, having made 24 Serie A appearances last season.
