Dele-Bashiru to Join Gattuso at Lazio Next Season

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is poised to work under Gennaro Gattuso, who has been appointed as the head coach of Lazio. The club confirmed Gattuso's appointment on June 3, after he reportedly held discussions with Lazio's president Claudio Lotito regarding transfer plans for the new season.

Although an agreement was reached on May 25, the formal announcement came later. Gattuso, a former Italian international, replaces Maurizio Sarri, who has moved to Atalanta.

Dele-Bashiru's future at Lazio has been a subject of speculation, but Gattuso's arrival may provide him with a fresh opportunity to establish himself within the squad. Last season, Dele-Bashiru made 24 appearances in Serie A, scoring one goal.

He is expected to become the second Nigerian international to play under Gattuso in Serie A, following Victor Osimhen. Gattuso's previous managerial stint included a brief period with the Italian national team, which ended in April 2023.
