ADC Demands INEC Chairman's Resignation Amid Crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced plans to escalate civil disobedience across Nigeria until the resignation of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Prof. Joseph Amupitan, whom they accuse of partisanship and misconduct. This statement comes amid a deepening leadership crisis within the ADC, worsened by INEC's recent decision to delist significant party figures, including national chairman David Mark.

The ADC's outburst follows protests and counterclaims among rival factions within the party. They expressed serious concerns regarding the neutrality of the electoral commission, particularly in light of allegations linking Amupitan to pro-Bola Ahmed Tinubu social media posts.

The ADC argues that Amupitan's continued position undermines public confidence in Nigeria's electoral system and insists that the integrity of electoral records must be safeguarded.
