ADC Aspirant Demands Withdrawal of Ogboru's Nomination

Dr. Emmanuel Usiwoghene Unuafe, a governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State, has issued a formal pre-action notice dated September 1, 2026, demanding the immediate correction and withdrawal of Chief Great Ovdeje Ogboru’s purported nomination as the ADC candidate for the 2027 governorship election. Unuafe claims he lawfully emerged from the party’s Delta State governorship nomination process held on May 22, 2026.

The notice was addressed to the national chairman and National Working Committee of the ADC, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and was acknowledged by the ADC National Chairman’s office on the same date. Unuafe stated he was a duly screened and cleared aspirant in the contest for the party's governorship ticket and is acting in his personal capacity without legal representation.

This development indicates a dispute over the ADC’s governorship nomination process in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general election, with Unuafe seeking recognition of his candidacy.
