Delta CP Oyeniyi Promises Enhanced Security Initiatives

Mr. Yemi Oyeniyi, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, assured the public that the Delta State Police Command will continue to implement proactive security initiatives to protect the lives and properties of citizens.

During a meeting with Mr. Aruga Joe Omokaro, the Chief Managing Director of Supreme Newspaper, in Asaba, Oyeniyi emphasized the importance of collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including various security agencies, to tackle crime and promote peace in the community.

He acknowledged the media's invaluable role in safeguarding lives and properties and fostering social cohesion, which is essential for economic activities to thrive. Oyeniyi noted that since his deployment to Delta State in February 2026, there has been a significant reduction in violent crime, attributing this success to the community policing strategies that have been implemented.

He called for closer cooperation with the Delta State Police Command and highlighted the importance of robust partnerships with media organizations to enhance coverage of security issues.
