Delta State Honors Autistic Cyclist Kanyeyachukwu Okeke

The Delta State government honored 16-year-old autistic cyclist Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo Okeke during a brief stop in Asaba as part of his long-distance ride from Enugu State to Lagos. Kanyeyachukwu, supported by his parents and the Kanyeyachukwu Autism Foundation, aims to raise awareness about autism and highlight his artistic talents and cycling passion.

Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Mrs. Tobor Oborevwori, along with senior officials including Dr.

Kingsley Emu and Bridget Anyafulu, praised Kanyeyachukwu's determination and courage. The governor's wife emphasized the importance of recognizing the value of every individual, particularly those with special needs.

The event included a presentation of a symbolic N10 million cheque to support Kanyeyachukwu's advocacy efforts. Chief Chuck Nduka Ez noted that Kanyeyachukwu's story serves as an inspiration, reflecting the potential of individuals with disabilities.

The state government reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote social advocacy and awareness for special needs children.
