Delta Police Seize Drugs Hidden in Electric Bulbs

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 08:45 hours, the Delta State Police Command conducted a successful operation following intelligence reports. Officers intercepted a Sienna bus on the Onicha Ugbo-Ewohimi road, which was en route to the northern part of the country.

The vehicle, driven by 47-year-old Osuk Stephen, was subjected to a routine search. During the search, police uncovered illicit substances carefully concealed inside electric energy bulbs.

The recovered items included 490 grams of a substance suspected to be cocaine and 4 grams of a substance suspected to be cannabis, specifically the loud strain. Preliminary investigations indicated that the substances were being transported to Abuja.

The police have stated that efforts are ongoing to arrest suspects linked to this offense as part of a broader investigation into murder and cultism in the area.
