Delta State Governor Swears in 11 New Permanent Secretaries

On Wednesday, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori swore in 11 new permanent secretaries during a ceremony at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba. This appointment was made to fill vacancies in the state civil service following the retirement of senior officials.

The new permanent secretaries include Dr. Yinkor Paul, Dr.

Okwunz C. Amadubogha, Peter Nkenchor O, H.

Engr. Solomon Aghagba, Ogbugo Victor Chike, Ighoyota M.

Rocki, Itawansa Augustin Onobraekpeyan, and O. Edwin Nkemachor Lucki.

Governor Oborevwori described the appointments as necessary to strengthen the civil service and improve service delivery across ministries and local government areas. He emphasized that the selection process was based on merit and professional competence, ensuring inclusivity across the state.

The governor also announced a recent approval for a 93% salary increase for permanent secretaries and urged the new appointees to demonstrate discipline and integrity, warning against compromising standards or allowing political interference in their duties.
