APC's One-Party Push Threatens Nigeria's Democracy, Yabo Warns

Faruk Malami Yabo, an ambassador from Sokoto State, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of undermining Nigeria's democratic system and promoting one-party dominance. In a recent address to journalists, Yabo highlighted the APC's failure to address critical issues such as security, agriculture, education, and healthcare, which he described as deteriorating under the current administration.

He commended former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for withdrawing from the senatorial race to support unity within the opposition, calling it a rare act of statesmanship. Yabo emphasized the importance of a credible electoral process and the need for a strong opposition coalition, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to prevent democratic backsliding.

He warned that the APC's actions threaten multiparty democracy and called for citizens to freely determine their political future without coercion as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
