APC's Wale Sulaiman Confident of 2027 Victory in Kwara

Prof. Wale Sulaiman, a former governorship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that the party will secure victory in the 2027 general elections in Kwara State despite ongoing internal conflicts. Speaking in Ilorin, he dismissed concerns that grievances from the party's recent primaries would hinder its chances.

Sulaiman noted that while there are disputes driven by personal ambitions, the party must focus on genuine democratic principles and the welfare of the people of Kwara. He acknowledged the challenges the state faces, such as insecurity, unemployment, poverty, and inadequate infrastructure, which need urgent attention.

Sulaiman criticized the internal disputes within the party, comparing them to "grown men fighting like schoolchildren." He expressed confidence in the APC's ability to retain power, stating that the performance of the party would be judged by the people based on healthcare, education, and infrastructure. He also mentioned that President Bola Tinubu has indicated that the APC governor will play a significant role in selecting a successor.
